- American Educational Research Association (AERA): The most prominent international professional organization with the primary goal of advancing educational research and its practical application
- National Center for Education Statistics (NCES): The primary federal entity for collecting and analyzing data related to education in the U.S. and other nations
- American Statistical Association (ASA) : Serves as a clearinghouse for current statistical developments, methodology, and practices; provides opportunities for professional development, and sponsors professional awards to recognize outstanding statisticians.
- Florida Educational Research Association (FERA) : A professional organization serving those who are engaged in some aspect of educational research, testing, measurement, and/or evaluation
- National Center for Fair Open Testing (FairTest): An organization which works to end the misuses and flaws of standardized testing and to ensure that evaluation of students, teachers and schools is fair, open, valid and educationally beneficial
- National Council on Measurement in Education (NCME): A professional organization for individuals involved in assessment, evaluation, testing, and other aspects of educational measurement.
Societies
- Royal Statistical Society: Its main purpose is to promote the discipline of statistics by disseminating and encouraging statistical knowledge and good practice with both producers and consumers of statistics, and in society at large
- Psychometric Society: A nonprofit professional organization devoted to the advancement of quantitative measurement practices in psychology, education, and the social sciences.
- Statistical Modelling Society: Formed in June 2003, with the purpose of encouraging and developing the use of statistical modelling in research and applied problems
